The LTC (Language Teaching Centre), founded in 1996, is an international language school in Cape Town, South Africa. We offer English and internationally recognised, foreign language training and certification in a nurturing, positive educational setting.

teachers are highly qualified, native speakers of the languages they teach. They have extensive experience in teaching students of many different nationalities, backgrounds and languages.

The Language Teaching Centre (LTC) is situated in the city centre, which makes it easy for students to access city attractions after lessons or during breaks. The school has 10 spacious classrooms facing a breath-taking view of the harbour and Table Mountain. The excursion programme at the school is designed to allow students to discover the city. It is a great place to study English in Cape Town.

LTC offer excursions twice a week to several places including Seal Island in Hout Bay, Table Mountain, the Snake Park and Cape Point. the school will gladly assist with making arrangements if you wish to visit places such as the Cape Winelands, safaris at local game reserves or Robben Island.

General English The General English Course teaches students the basics of the language including the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening, in addition to pronunciation and English grammar. The curriculum will cover: Introduction to word classes Understanding of basic English structures and courtesy forms Past, present and future forms, particularly simple and continuous functions Improved listening accuracy Improved basic pronunciation. This course encompasses 20 lessons per week. The course runs from Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 12h30. LTC provide small classes of 3 – 8 learners as this allows to facilitate a intimate learning environment. the course is open to anyone looking to learn the English language.
Intensive English A crash course is also available in all our courses both private and part-time basis, depending on your schedule. Crash courses are scheduled for you attend and satisfy your own language requirements at your convenience. This course encompasses 35 lessons per week. The course runs from Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 12h30 and 13h30 -16h00. LTC provide small classes of 1 – 2 learners as this allows to facilitate a intimate learning environment. the course is open to anyone looking to learn the English language. Due to the flexible nature of this course , the school created a flexible pricing structure.

BUSINESS ENGLISH (GE-BUS) In modern society, business is based on international contacts and how well we communicate with them. Our school assists in building your business by improving your ability to communicate with clients in their mother tongue. The course covers language skills for business meetings, presentations and business writing and can also include marketing, sales, finance and managerial English. This course encompasses 30 lessons per week. The course runs from Monday to Friday from 09H00 – 12H30 and 13H30 – 15H00. the school provide a small classes of 3 – 8 learners as this allows to facilitate a intimate learning environment. the course is open to anyone looking to learn the English language.
TEFL/TESOL (TEFL) LTC offers a four-week TESOL certification course that provides you with high quality practical training to help you become a certified TESOL teacher. The TESOL certification is respected internationally, allowing you to then teach anywhere in the world if you so wish. All language tuition and accommodation fees have to be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course.

Private lessons must be booked by a minimum of 10 lessons/hours and to be paid upfront. No single private lessons are available.

I understand that when signing this registration I shall be liable for the full course fee, whether I attend the course or not or whether I attend all of the lessons, or am late.

I understand that I remain liable for the full course fees in the event that the sponsor will not pay, regardless of the reasons.

I understand that in the event of any legal action being taken against me to claim outstanding course fees, I shall be liable for the costs of such action on an attorney and client scale together with collection commission and interest.

Please note, LTC is not liable for bank charges and incurred.

Please note that Visa and Mastercard incur a 3.7% surcharge. Amex is a 7.1% surcharge

Alteration and cancellation:

Dates and times of any course cannot be changed (scheduled classes). Private lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours

in advance (they can be rescheduled, but no refund will be made). Once a course has started, there will be no refund for courses under any circumstances whatsoever.

Certificates:

Certificates will only be issued after completion of a test at the end of a course.

Withdrawal:

Once courses have commenced NO REFUND will be made should a student cancel or fail to attend lessons. No refund will be made should a student be asked to withdraw from set course(s) due to poor attendance or unsatisfactory performance and / or unbecoming behavior. Courses and course fees are not transferable .Course cannot be discontinued and recommenced at later stage. Course fees will be relinquished after a period of 2 months (private lessons must be taken within 3 months).

Two or less weeks prior to course commencement: No refund

Three weeks prior to course commencement: 30% refund

Six weeks prior to course commencement: 50% refund

Course amendments:

Should there be insufficient bookings for the booked dates, LTC reserves the right to hold the course back until a sufficient number of students have registered.

In the inlikely event that courses are cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, lessons that are cancelled, will be added at the end of the course, therefore no lessons will be lost.

Insurance:

LTC does not insure students against illness, accident, theft, or against the loss of personal effects or whatsoever at any time.

Responsibility for any accident that may occur to any student for the duration of a course of study, either during excursions or any other activities, whether on or off the premises of the institution. LTC therefore recommends that students take out full personal insurance cover, including medical and any other foreseeable expenses. This insurance should include loss of fees paid in advance, in total or in part, for a course or for any activity that cannot be attended.

Public holidays

Private lessons/part time lessons that have been missed due to public holidays can be rescheduled. No refund for courses missed on Public Holidays.
